If you have already started/saved your glog, you will find it by scrolling down to the bottom of your dashboard page. When you locate the glog - select "edit" and you will be able to continue working where you left off. For directions on embedding your glog into the wiki see Embedding Glog into Wiki.
Glog Wall and Page Wall
From the tool box - select "wall". The wall dialog box is then displayed
The glog wall is the back ground of your "poster" while the page wall is the area BEHIND your poster.
Select a background you would like to use then select "Use It".
There is a variety of background to choose from for both the glog wall and page wall. These can be viewed by scrolling through the different categories and pages.
To switch from glog wall to page wall, select the tab for "page wall".
Images
Can be uploaded from your computer, linked, or grabbed.
Directions for uploading and linking images will follow below.
To "grab" images, a webcam must be available. If one is available for your use, follow the prompts for adding the image to glogster.
Upload images:
When you select "upload", the "select files to upload" dialog box opens.
Locate the image on your computer.
Select the image so the file name appears.
Select open.
Wait patiently for the image to load.
You can then select from any of your uploaded images to add to your glog.
Linking images:
When you select "link", the "add image from the web" dialog box opens.
Here, you will copy and paste the URL (web address) for the image you have selected.
Then select "add to your files".
The image will then appear as one of your image selections.
Select it by clicking on it and choosing "use it"
Frames
Once you have selected an image to use in your glog, a frame can be added to personalize the image a little more.
To do this, select your image, choose the "frames" tab, select a frame, and then select "use it".
You will then add the image and the frame at one time.
Adding Video and Sound
Basically the same as adding images.
You are provided with the same options of Uploading, Linking, and Grabbing. - Follow the same procedures for each.
To Grab video - a web cam is needed.
To Grab video - a microphone is needed.
Frames are also available for your videos and sounds.
Graphics and Text
A variety of graphics and texts options are available simply by selecting these tools.
Simply select the graphic or the text type and choose "Use It"
You can then manipulate it within your glog.
To link an object or text to another website on the internet:
Select the object by clicking on it to open the Edit options.
Select "Edit"
Select the small "chain link" icon.
Copy and paste the URL for the website you wish to link to in the "Add URL" dialog box.
Select "Apply" - then select OK
This should link your object to the desired website.
HOWEVER - the link will NOT work while you are in edit mode.
To check to make sure the link works, you will need to save/publish and then VIEW the glog.
When your cursor passes over an object that is linked, it will be come circled in pink.
Click on it and you should be taken to the linked website.
ACTIVE LINK NOTED BY THE PINK CIRCLE THAT APPEARS WHEN THE CURSOR PASSES OVER IT.
